Music is a lot like eggs. It can be scrambled, fried, boiled, and beyond. Music can make us headbang, make us weep, or make us relax. We can put some pepper or 7th chords into it, make it into a movie omelet, or serve it with a gourmet video game breakfast. If anyone can make music like eggs, it is Will Cooper.

    When Will Cooper first began playing the guitar, he wanted to be a rockstar. And quite honestly, he still does. Starting with more straightforward classic rock, Will began to develop interest in progressive rock music, including bands like Yes, Kansas, and his personal favorite, Rush. But limiting himself just to one style would close off opportunities. So, Will took on new styles as well. Playing in jazz band all four years of high school expanded his horizons in many ways, introducing more complex harmonies and new ways to improvise melodies. But when he began to learn about producing and recording music, the deal was sealed: music is what he wanted to do for a career.

    Will entered College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati with a scholarship, majoring in commercial music production, in 2020. While the COVID-19 pandemic was not the ideal setting for playing music, he turned the challenge into an opportunity to learn to write and produce in a variety of musical styles, learning songwriting skills, and continuing to grow on the instrument. Will chose CCM in order to fulfill his dream of writing music for soundtracks, television shows, commercials, video games or film. A fan of Nintendo games and Star Wars, Will has a taste for creative, otherworldly adventures, and has a vivid imagination. Will is trained in Logic Pro X and has the skills to write on assignment basis. Additionally, his guitar playing and experience continues to grow, as he now has learned a repertoire of classic dance and R&B tunes, and plenty of room for more. He has years of experience playing live, including cover bands, musicals, theme park shows, and worship services. There is also his original progressive rock project, Neon Caravan, which puts on electric live shows in addition to releasing original progressive rock music composed and arranged by him. Additionally, he has also been teaching guitar lessons since January 2024, working with students on theory, songs, and improvisation.

    Now, having completed his degree in Commercial Music Production in December of 2024, Will Cooper is a musician for hire competent in multiple popular styles, as well as a soundtrack composer open minded to any project. While music serves a variety of functions, Will believes that it centers around having fun. Playing live music is fun. Writing music, even the most depressing boleros is still fun. That enjoyment is what drove Will to CCM, and hopefully, you can be a part of this joy as well. With all these musical eggs, there are almost not enough baskets to put all of them in.
